Taking Home The Hardware

All I can say is WOW! I had a ton of fun, but I am still having trouble walking today. The first two miles of the race were straight up hill (no joke). When you finally made it to the top and the turn around point they had you climb, crawl, jump over a 5' wall and then run through a tire obstacle. Not easy after you have just run two miles up hill. There were also two tunnel crawls, a low crawl, and a hay bale climb.

Bring it on!

Almost done

It was worth all the pain- I placed 3rd in my age group and brought home a nice piece of bling to add to my collection

It All Started At The Gazebo

Wednesday will be Greg and I 9th anniversary! We had a special weekend out on Saturday. Our friend volunteered to watch the kids and let us use his awesome corvette to drive up to the lake. We took a tour of the Thunderbird Mansion, where we got engaged and then scarfed down some excellent Mexican food.

We're Going On A Nature Walk

I took the kids to Rancho this week for a nice walk and picnic. Along our travels we saw many beautiful things. I loved relaxing and taking in nature with my sweet children. Here are a few of the neat things we spied.

A nice fat black lizard

A sneaky squirrel

Two sun bathing turtles

Medium sized goslings

Cute, fuzzy baby goslings and their mama

Baby goslings exploring the pond

A here is a picture of the neatest thing that I found- two beautiful, smiling children enjoying a nice lunch in the shade with their mama

Change Of Plans

So Last months goal didn't quite get accomplished. I decided that I could work on the dresses another time, however, this month I plan on making some much needed curtains for Anton's room. We did have tinfoil covering the window and a blanket to keep the light out. Upon opening up the foil one morning to let some light in I discovered mold growing!! Moisture was being trapped behind the foil and an experiment was beginning to take hold of the window. Time for a change. I hit up Jo-Anne's for some manly truck fabric and will be get'n those done this week! That will be my goal for May considering that our 9 year :) wedding anniversary is coming up and then we are going out of town for a week, I think my plate will be full for the rest of the month. Not to mention I have my death run in two weeks- YIKES.

Meanwhile, in the interim, we are enjoying the ghetto solution..towels

Yes, they are being held up by clothes pins. I told you, ghetto right?

Ahhh this will look much better. The blue snuggle flannel will be on the back to provide more sun blocking power. Then,I do realize once I hang up new dark blue curtains I will want to paint the room a nice baby blue for contrast. Greg will love that.
