CRUZ'N IN STYLE

I must have been a REAL good girl this year. Santa brought me a new van. My car and Greg's truck don't fit three car seats. Not the best time to be buying anything, but we needed something and Greg did a lot of research and wheel'n and deal'n. He got a great deal in Sacramento.

CHRISTMAS 2008

Kajaani and Grandma Burst enjoying a fairy princess book. Books always make the best presents. KJ looked at and "read" her book for almost an hour.

Raija is also enjoying her book.

Anton's first Christmas.... I wonder what Santa brought him?

My first truck. I'm so excited.

sorry everyone...

I know you want to see pictures of the little one, but RJ busted our cord to connect the camera to the computer, so we can't upload any photos. Hopefully Santa (Greg) will come through on his promise to get me a new camera for Christmas. I plan to try and take some pictures of Anton and the rest of the family this weekend. We wish everyone a great New Year and a super Merry Christmas. Thanks again for all those who have kept us in their prayers, I know they have been heard and answered.

I'm Home

Anton finally came home on Monday night. He was almost in the hospital for two weeks. We are all trying to adjust to a new baby. Since he is still not strong enough to nurse and still doesn't quite know how it makes for a long day and night. I pump, then feed him the bottle. It takes up a lot of time, but I am not quite ready to give up the hope that when he gets stronger he will nurse. Wish me luck that I can make it that long. Everything else seems to be going fine, we just need him to get stronger and eat faster. It takes him about a half-hour to eat two ounces :( Wake up buddy. I take him to the doctor tomorrow so we will see if he is gaining weight and making good progress. Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts.

Still not eating well

These are better pictures now that he is not hooked up to so many things. His IV is gone, no lights, although his jaundice is still high. The main thing he needs to do now is wake up and eat. He is required to eat a certain amount in a half hour every three hours to go home. He has not done that up to this point because he is just too sleepy. He is gaining weight though, so that is good. We all just want to get him home.

This picture is my favorite because he has his eyes opened :) Stay awake little buddy and drink your milk. It will make you big and strong.

Here He Is

Even though I didn't get to see Anton very much the first two days I was still trying to stay positive.

I wanted to get a picture of most of the family before we left the hospital. RJ was climbing off the bed, but luckily she looked at the camera when we asked her to.

Here's the little guy. He was under the light to help get rid of his jaundice. he has an IV in his arm and all the other wires are to monitor his lungs, oxygen level, and his heart rate. The cool "glasses" are to protect his eyes from the lights. He also has a feeding tube up his nose.

Anton Jonas Burst

You never really know what life is going to bless and challenge you with. Our little buddy was a little early, but doing well. He was due on the 26th of December and decided that he preferred a Thanksgiving B-Day and not a Christmas one. He was 6 pounds 9 ounces, and 19 1/2 inches long. not too bad for being born that early. He will already be a week old tomorrow, hard to believe. Unfortunately he is still in the NICU and trying hard to stay awake long enough to eat. There are still a few things he needs to do before he gets to come home. Eat the required amount at each feeding and be gaining weight. As of yet he is still working on those things. We really hope to have him home before Christmas, but we will just have to wait and see. Please keep us all in your prayers. We will have pictures soon.
