Brushing up on the safety features before we take off
Birthday banana? KJ hid this the morning before and we found it as we were looking for the candles. We thought it would be a nice surprise for her if we put a candle on it as we sung Happy Birthday to her. I didn't get a picture of her initial reaction, but I was told that it was great. You can't hide anything from mom and dad, we will always find it. No, she didn't have to eat it.
Look at that cake! YUM! Happy Birthday Gramps and KJ, we LOVE you
enjoying nature as we took a nice hike with auntie Elaine
the sycamore leaves were bigger than the kids heads
What to do? What to do? I know, lets paint faces on marshmallows with food coloring and then melt them in the microwave. RJ seemed to think it was an excellent idea. We had lots of colored tongues, lips and teeth.
off to the zoo- petting sharks. I think I will just take the pictures. Anton ended up pulling on one of the fins and scaring the poor shark to death. Time to move on to the next exhibit.
My favorite picture- the kids are checking out the massive polar bear. He was very active and did lots of twists and flips under the water. We got to see him walking around out of the water too. Beautiful- I can't wait until I can pet and play with one.
I don't know what was up with the animals in the desert exhibit, but they all seemed to be very sexually minded. The turtles are working on the next generation and the little guy in the upper right seemed to be quite pleased with himself. (Zoom in if you can't see.) cover the kids eyes though, this is a family blog after all.
Feeding the birds was fun- they sell sticks with food on them and the kids had a blast trying to get the birds to land on their arm and hands. Anton wasn't so sure, but he eventually warmed up to the idea. The birds were apparently tickling his hands and he couldn't stop giggling, it was really cute.
Duckpin bowling is something that we always try to do when we are in Indy. Smaller balls and they let the kids walk halfway up the lanes to bowl.
Pumpkin carving time- The kids got to carve pumpkins twice (lucky). Cousin CJ helped them out with power tools.
At uncle Mike and aunt Brenda's house they carved the old fashion way. They were even pumpkins from their garden.
Uncle Mike and Aunt Brenda, Bella too- thanks for letting us (AJ) destroy your house.
Cousins- Matt, Erica, Grant and Hunter.
you have to sweep up the leaves before you can jump in them. We were all a little saddened at the rain because we weren't able to jump in the leaves as much as we had hoped for.

Saying our final goodbye
taking in all the beautiful fall colors on Grandpa's street

95 years young- We love you Gramps, it was good to see you and give you a hard time.

The kids got a special treat when we landed in Reno. They all got to go sit in the pilot seat and look at all the buttons and gadgets. I didn't even know you were allowed to do that.
