Anton Drama

What? You did what? Let me set the scene for you. It's about 1:30 in the morning and I hear a soft cry coming from Anton's room. Easy fix, no problem, I will just go in and cover him back up and be on my way back to bed. My plan was in full action until I noticed that the blanket I was grabbing was literally soaking wet. Not damp, soaking wet. Ok, I'll just throw that blanket on the floor and use his other blanket. I started feeling around in the dark (which is never a good idea)and to my dismay Anton's Jammies were soaking wet, his stuffed animal was wet, his sheet had a nice round pool of pee-pee. As I was picking Anton up to get him out of the mess I discovered yet another fun surprise. Anton had unzipped his Jammies sometime in the night and taken half of his diaper off. That would explain why there was so much pee everywhere. After a half hour cleaning ordeal everyone was comfy back in their own beds.

Will someone please put a onsie on that boy!

My New Toy

Adobe Photoshop Elements 9
An awesome Christmas present from Greg. Saying I have a lot to learn would be a huge understatement. In the meantime, you will all have to enjoy the cool things that I discover. I think Anton's looks the best, KJ's is a little scary.

Sleeping a little bit tighter

I finally got around to making the girls their pillowcases. What I mean by finally is that the material has been sitting in a clump in their PJ drawer for 2 years!!!! Yikes!

Private Business

I went in search of my little buddy yesterday, it had been too quiet for too long. It took me a while to find him....

this was a sight to behold- he was hiding inside the tv stand with the door closed

I opened it and said, "what are you doing Anton?" You have to love the reply, "Go away Mom, I'm pooping." he then promptly shut the door and continued with his business.

We picked out some of these at the store last week, but to no avail. He started screaming and pulling them off the second that I put them on. He's not interested in the potty and I'm not going to force him. After all I'm looking forward to the next hiding spot.

So much better

OK, OK, I know our dinning room chairs were completely dirty and down right disgusting. I'm embarrassed that I didn't fix them sooner, so sorry that you had to sit on those nasty things. Thank goodness for helpful mother-in-laws and Christmas break. It is so nice to have an extra set of adult eyes and hands around. I would like everyone to know that even though the pictures look like I had Mummo doing all the work , I actually helped too. I just had to stop and be the obsessive documenter/picture taker that I am. Thanks for all your help Mummo, they turned out excellent!

Step 1: Remove billions and billions of staples, then measure fabric

The very embarrassing before photos

Step 2: pick out new fabric

Step 3: Stretch and staple, stretch and staple. Careful on those tricky corners

The side by side comparison- again, so sorry that y'all had to sit on those

So, so, so much better

The complete set nicely tucked under the table

Any bets on how long they stay clean? I can tell you that RJ and KJ both have already spilled on their chair. Luckily Greg took the time to spray them with scotch guard. RJ now sits on a towel and they both get daily reminders (threats really) to eat nicely over their plates.

Lots of Snow

What to do, what to do? How about a fun filled morning of tubing, sledding and donuts! That's exactly what we decided to do one fine day over the Christmas break. The drive to Truckee and later over Donner Pass was beautiful. As the title suggests, there was lots and lots of snow. All the snow covered trees made for a spectacular winter sight. Even though the kids did a fair amount of whining, the day was a wonderful success. I mean how can you go wrong when you get to warm up to super chocolaty hot chocolate and a melt in your mouth maple bar.

CRASH! At least they avoided the tree

About a half hour into our sledding the tube popped. Look at that sad, sad face.
