BEST OF TIMES, WORST OF TIMES

Yesterday: I took RJ to the Whole Foods market for a playgroup activity. She made bread, took a tour of the store while sampling all of the yummy commodities including- fresh strawberries, oranges, cheese, cinnamon apple chips, a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie and topped it all off with a fresh slice of cheese pizza. While the kids were enjoying their pizza and more fresh fruit, the bakery brought them their baked bread. They also visited the flower department where they each got to pick their own flower. It was a super fun day for both RJ and mom. I was so impressed with the store and the tour (which was all free) that I decided to come back today so that KJ could see the store and enjoy some samples. What I thought would be a fun day with my children turn out to be a nightmare.

Today: Everything was going great, we were all sampling huge fresh strawberries and moseying through the store when I decided to stop at the deli to get us some lunch. I stopped the cart, which KJ had been trying to catch a ride on the side the entire time- I just told her to stop messing with the cart because....it was going to tip over (Hey, I'm just the mom, what do I know?) Well, I turned my back to get a slice of pizza for the girls, and crash the cart tipped over! Anton's car seat fell out and tipped to the side, RJ was in the main part of the cart, luckily she didn't fall out of the cart, but she hit her head. KJ of course was not hurt at all. I hurried and picked the cart up, checked the kids for bumps and made sure that their eyes looked ok. I ended up taking both of them to the doctor to make sure nothing was seriously wrong. So far, so good, I have to keep an eye on both of them for four days to make sure everything is still ok. Wow! What a day.

Pat the bread

Pat it some more

Add raisins (lots of raisins, all in the middle)

Gently fold

Keep folding, all the way over. Excellent!

smush it together

Check to see if raisins are still there

Nice floury face after the sampling

About an hour in the oven, and there you have it. Fresh clump raisin bread. We had it for dinner last night and it was really tasty. Good job Raija :)

FOUR MONTHS OLD

Anton had his four month old check up and shots yesterday. The good news is that he is doing great, the bad news is that he is growing up way too fast :( Here are the stats for those of you that are interested in that sort of stuff. Weight- 13lbs 14oz (25%) height 24 3/4in (50%) and he is in the 50% for his head as well. The best news of all is that he is still mom's handsome little man :) Enjoy

Leprechauns: Mischievous, Yet Generous

We came home on St. Patrick's Day to a complete meal, courtesy of the little green men. Pot of Gold Potato Soup, fruit salad with green marshmallows, four leaf clover cookies and blarney stone brownies. Kajaani and Raija found out that while the leprechauns were busy preparing our dinner they accidentally dropped their gold throughout the house. The girls were told that if they could find the gold before they came back that night to retrieve it, they could keep the jackpot. So after scarfing down their food they frantically searched the house, luckily our friends left clues for the girls to follow. When all was said and done they each ended up with 12 gold (chocolate) coins. How lucky :)

Greentastic, don't you think? Yes, that is green leprechaun milk

Cheers to my little green friends

THE HUNT IS ON.......

I found one under my pillow, and a clue too

There's one under my pillow too, see.

gold, gold, gold, it's everywhere!

The big haul--the last clue lead the girl to their "pot" of gold.
