Over the River and Through the Woods

To IKEA we go!! What a fun and relaxing weekend. My friend and I went to Sacramento to enjoy a nice "mom" weekend. We dined on fine Mediterranean cuisine, took in a good movie, toured old town Sac. and shoped without any interruptions. I must say that Ikea is an exciting place to shop, so many things to look at and touch. Anton ended up with three awesome cars, the girls will have more play kitchen items to open on Christmas and our house is now home to many new luxurious items. I'm enjoying my new kitchen glass set and a few other things that I'm not showing Greg quite yet. (He doesn't really need to know everything I purchased, does he?)

Treasures galore

We stayed at the Citizen Hotel in downtown Sac. it was very fancy

Even the lobby was very impressive

Our view from the 13th floor, which we needed our room card to access because it was a private floor

Fancy! Fancy!

In Other News

I had a blast this last weekend! Besides decorating the house for Halloween and making all kinds of cool and tasty food, I also ran a 5k. It was a 70's themed race and yes, I did dress up. I wore a sweet high collared polyester shirt and sported a flower tattoo on my cheek. I also showed off my silver tights and bright purple shorts. The morning run was super cold, but I would say that it turned out to be well worth it. I also have to put a shout out to my BFF Jessica, who helped me on my way to victory with the lovely braided hairstyle.

I was first in my age group and the third woman finisher overall, so I won a groovy trophy and a ten dollar gift card. They also handed out prizes at the end and I won new running socks. Rock on!!! I love running

October Fun

We carved quite a few pumpkins this year and especially enjoyed carving the big mama from our garden. We could have carved four separate pictures into her, but we settled on Snow White and a scary bat. KJ carved her own pumpkin this year, she drew faces and the word Boo on the side. She had a lot of fun cutting it out and designing it. We also enjoyed feasting on some Halloween creations throughout the month. The Stromboli "ribs" were very tasty and the kids loved the green punch. It was fun doing crafts and making special treats with the family. I already have lots of fun ideas for Thanksgiving.
