Heading East

A little trip to SLC to visit family, friends and a few of our favorite places. Gyros were a must! Visiting with the Nightingale's is always fun, thanks guys. Playing with cousins was a blast.

The face tells all- I don't think he really likes it. The kids were sampling some of Mummo's rhubarb plants

She's got the moves like Jagger. RJ was thrilled to go roller skating, she had been looking forward to it for months

KJ work'n the floor

Go Greg, Go Greg

hello paradise- Gygi was all I hoped it would be. I only got a few things, I promise.

Temple square was amazingly beautiful

I love you 2 girls

7 Long Months

I'm very happy to report that we have new carpet!!! You may remember that a few months back (7 to be exact), but hey, who's keeping track, our sewer system backed up into the house and flooded both bathrooms, the master bedroom and part of the hallway. Partly because we are cheap and partly because we kept having medical emergencies we opted to keep putting it off. We love, love, love the new carpet. No stains, thicker padding underneath and a soft, fluffy feel. Mommy likes!

Out with the old

lots of DEBRIS- I just love that word- don't ask, I know I'm strange

Love this picture- (I'm loving a lot of things in this post) So curious all the time

Pull up a floor, it's going to be a while. So the kids and I (minus KJ) were stuck in the dinning room for about 5 hours while the guys were working on the carpet. It was really cold outside so we couldn't do anything outside, and....where was I going to take two little kids for 5 hours. My options were not all that great. We decided to wait it out in the dining room and make the best of it. Thankfully the workers were very patient because AJ had tons of questions for them and tons of things for them to look at.

New padding and new carpet

There were many times that we all accidentally stepped on these in the hallway- so glad they are nicely covered up now.

In with the new- hooray!

Spring Fever

The kids and I went on a nature walk yesterday. It's starting to look like Spring around here. We are enjoying Spring break and are hoping the weather stays nice the rest of the week so we can get out and do some more exploring.

Hippity Hoppity

Happy Easter! The kids had a fun Easter and were lucky enough to enjoy three egg hunts. Grandma's house is always a fun place to find treasures, the Easter bunny left eggs full of quarters and a dollar bill, not to mention candy. The Easter bunny also made a surprise visit to our front yard and left the kids a tiny plush bunny, real eggs and a huge bunny balloon that says, "You've been egged." Thank you to our sweet neighbors :) that was an extra special treat for the kids. Anton loves the balloon and carries it protectively around the house. On Saturday, we braved the crowds and participated in one of the community sponsored egg hunts. It was crazy!! Mostly the parents who were supposed to stay out of the hunt area so it could be just for the kids. Seconds after the person said go a hoard of parent went dashing after the eggs scooping them up and putting them in their kid’s buckets. Really, we can't even let the kids hunt for their own eggs for two minutes? We also enjoyed seeing the Easter bunny, going through a fire truck and observing a few silly farm animals (donkeys, goats, ducks, and a very aggressive rooster.)

KJ looking beautiful, but way too old on Easter morning.

A happy little RJ showing off her little easter bunny plush and Minnie Mouse. Lots of eggs and lots of smiles

RJ found this pink wooden duck at the egg hunt and quickly became attatched to it. She was very sad and dissapointed when we told her that she could'nt take it home

Made me laugh

Warning: This is a potty talk post. You have been warned
Anton informed me that he had to go potty, which is fine, except, he thinks he needs me as an escort about 90 percent of the time. When he has to go "POOP”, he instructs me to close my eyes because he "can't concentrate" if I'm looking. Being the obedient mom that I am I put my hands over my eyes and waited. When he was finished, he pronounced such and then with the most loving and sincere voice said, "I Love You Mom! now wipe my butt." True love I tell ya!!

80 is Great!

This weekend we celebrated Grandma's 80th birthday. It was a suprise party and Grandma was very happy and suprised. It was a beautiful party and she had lots of friends and family that surrounded her with love. The kids enjoyed themselves and had a blast at the kids only table. Thank you for all you do and for all that you have taught us over the years. We look forward to many more years of love.

The lady of the hour- Happy 80th Birthday Grandma

What would any party be without CUPCAKES! Orange creme, strawberry and lemon.
