Getting a little exercise after a huge Thanksgiving dinner is never a bad thing. We decided to hike to the N mountain on Saturday. We also had to keep with tradition and cut down our Christmas tree on Friday. We're not much for the black Friday crowds so we always opt to get out of town and tromp around in the hills. This year the snow caught us a little off guard and the chillins were not properly dressed. Luckily we found the perfect tree in no time at all. It looks beautiful in our living room and it will look even better with my massive diamond ring all wrapped up and sitting snugly under its branches :) Ok, maybe not a diamond ring, but at least a new frying pan.
there she is, isn't she a beaut'
timber
The girls left us in the dust. It was nice for them to spend time together and get some exploring time
KJ got her first real report card last week. We are very proud of you! All S+(which is the highest that you can get.) We decided to take you out to dinner, you picked Miguel's Mexican restaurant. Good choice if I do say so myself. You brought your report card to see if you could get a free dinner or dessert. The server was happy to give you either, you chose a yummy vanilla ice cream dessert with strawberries. It was huge- we all got a bite. We also took you to an art exhibit of all women artists. We happen to think that you are very creative and quite the up and coming artist yourself. It was fun spending time with you and honoring you for you're efforts. Keep up the hard work.
We hiked part of the Thomas Creek Trail via Arrowcreek. There were so many amazing little treasure to look at along the way. Of course the kids enjoyed the usuals, throwing rocks, finding the perfect hiking stick and arguing about who gets to be the leader.
The light dusting of snow and the low ominous clouds over Mt. Rose were a wonderful sight
Such great friends when they are being nice to each other
Searching for the perfect rock- or should I say rocks
Sometimes, when you least expect it, you truly do find something amazing. I happened to look down at this rock on the trail and spotted a peculiar shape in the mud, maybe I'm easily amazed.
Too cold, too cold. I hope that some of you get my "funny" jokes. Anyways, the girls and I had a wonderful time at Disney on ice this weekend. I was hoping that it would be a good show and I was not disappointed. All the performers were great, the skating was excellent and the atmosphere was fun and playful. KJ was excited to see Ariel and RJ loved seeing Tiana. I loved the whole show and enjoyed spending time with my girls while they are still "little". I'm realizing more everyday how fast they really do grow up and I don't like it. I'm trying to take every opportunity to spend time with them and do things that they enjoy. One sad note to report- after the show we headed to our favorite yogurt shop- any guesses? MMMMMYogurt only to find that it has been closed due to slow business. I almost cried. Don't laugh at me! I loved that place, and so did my children. Well, at least Dairy Queen came through for us. The mini blizzards are just perfect.
Raija is always asking if she is fashionee, yup, that is the word she uses. She comes up with quite entertaining, interesting and unique outfits. We were taking KJ to school yesterday and it happen to snow that night so... this is the spectacular outfit that she picked out. Marvelous, absolutely marvelous. Remember, you saw it here first.
