TO INDY AND BACK

This last week we flew to Indiana to visit Greg's grandpa and lots of cousins. We had a great time and the kids were excellent on the flights. We flew out on Sat. the 23rd and came home the following Sat. the 30th. It rained almost everyday we were there, but we enjoyed the wet stuff falling from the sky. Our adventures included, but were not limited to, the zoo, the botanical gardens, Indy 500 raceway museum, and the Children's museum. The girls had a spectacular time with their GREAT-grandpa, and KJ even experienced her first crush. Luckily the humidity or the bugs didn't kill us, so now we are back and living with the aftermath of a long cross-country trip....i.e. laundry, unpacking, tantrums ( the good stuff). Would we do it again? (sure, in about 10 years).

Uncle Mike and Aunt Brenda's new country retirement home. Beautiful!!

Kris,RJ,Aunt Brenda,KJ,Uncle Mike & Anton,Greg :) It sure was nice to relax out in the country, not to mention the yummy buffet lunch. Who dosen't like fried chicken, baked beans, and rhubarb crunch?

KJ and RJ relaxing by some beautiful purple flowers

This was the main house at the botanical gardens (cool huh?) the grounds were filled with a variety of amazingly beautiful flowers, plants and trees. I think the girls liked the water fountains and the naked statues the best.

KJ really, really liked playing with her second cousin Hunter. There was lots of hugs, and to Hunter's dismay even a few kisses (on the cheeks, I hope)

Watch out Indy Zoo, here come the crazies: Gramps, KJ &RJ, James,Meg,Kim,CJ,Mummo,Greg & Anton. Front: Cullen and Henry

The monkeys tried to make their escape on the train, but were quickly captured and forced to smile for yet more pictures.

Big wooden tater heads-Cool!

Greg found Grandma and Grandpa's old two seater bike and decided that it would be a good idea to take KJ for a ride around the neighborhood. Wait, she can't reach the pedals. That didn't stop them and KJ loved it.

RJ also wanted to try the bike, but the driveway is about as far as we would let this wild one go. Luckily she seemed to be satisfied

Couldn't resist taking a pic. of the pink race car :)

Anton and daddy bonding with nature. Can't believe he's turning you into a tree hugger already

Gramps decided that he needed a tree cut down so he recruited KJ and RJ to help

Time to say goodbye to gramps :( thanks for the amazing week!

KJ posing in front of the "cool ride" that Gramps hooked us up with.

KJ seemed to be enjoying the flight, could it be all the snacks and the portable DVD player?

RJ on the plane ride home...Sleepy? Grouchy? Ready to sleep in her own bed?
