Full of Hot Air

KJ and RJ had a balloon breakfast at their school. The balloons always come right over the playground and sometimes land in the field next to the school. Everyone was having a great time until I noticed that AJ was missing. I looked all over the playground, all over the school and all over the older kids playground. The bell rang for the girls to start school and I still had not found him. My heart was starting to beat very quickly and I was beginning to panic. Luckily my mom was there and she got the girls to class while I continued searching. I checked the whole school another time since all the kids were now in class and there was no sign of him. I was walking to the office to get help when I saw him walking up the street with a man and woman. I yelled out his name and quickly ran to get him. I asked the man where he had found him. AJ was clear down the street a block away at a big intersection. He said he was looking for his sisters to see the balloons. I'm glad someone noticed him alone and was taking care of him. I said a lot of gratitude prayers that morning and AJ now has to stay with mom or dad and hold our hand at all times. Scary!! I'm glad it turned out ok. I'm thankful that heavenly Father was watching over him. It is truly the worst feeling when one of your kids are missing or lost. This is not the first time that he has wondered off like this. I now keep an even better eye on him. I'm going to have to put one of those leashes on him if he keeps it up.

The next morning we headed over to the park and watched all the balloons being inflated and taking off. The kids always enjoy walking around in the field right next to the huge balloons. It got quite hot standing next to this huge flame.

The "Earth" balloon was a hit- the only balloon of its kind in the world. Perfectly round instead of the traditional teardrop shape. All the special shaped balloons were favorites with the kids. There was a fish, Darth Vader, Pepsi can, shark, and many more. I had a free ride for each of the kids to ride the shark balloon, but by the time we found the line it was about an hour to two hour wait. The kids were disappointed, but we were able to cheer them up. Hopefully next year we can get in line a little sooner.

There were a lot of pretty clouds in the sky, it made for interesting and beautiful pictures.

We watched the balloon on top lift off, it couldn't get quite high enough in time, so it hit the top of the other balloon. The kids thought that was hilarious.
